Quick Change Disc
CAPLOCK LOCKING DISCS
Strong abrasive disc laminated to a cloth backing with
three styles of lock-on attachments and three material selections: Aluminum Oxide, Zirconia and Ceramic.
OPERATION
Attaches to a locking style backup pad on a high speed grinder.
APPLICATIONS
Used for stock removal, finishing, deburring and blending of metal and other
materials.
OTHER INFORMATION
Three locking styles: Type 1 has a plastic button with 5-6 protruding
plastic fingers to quickly "snap-on" the disc to the holder. This type is comparable to Power-Lock® by Merit. Type
2 has a metal button with a depressed center hole as its locking device. A "turn-on" motion is used to attach the disc to
the holder. This type is comparable to Speed-Lok® by Norton. Type 3 has a plastic threaded screw as its locking
device and is attached to the backup pad using a "roll-on" motion. This type is comparable to Roloc® by 3M.
Locking Discs are also available in silicon carbide in all three types listed above. Grits listed are not
all of the grits that are available. Finer grits: 150, 180, 220, 240, 280, 320 and 400 are also available. Same Day shipping
does not apply to silicon carbide or other grits.
NON-WOVEN LOCKING DISCS
Non-woven, compressible nylon fibers impregnated with
aluminum oxide grain and available with three styles of lock-on attachments.
OPERATION
Attaches to a backup pad on a high speed grinder.
APPLICATIONS
Used for blending, cleaning, deburring and finishing of metal surfaces.
Also used for rust and gasket removal. Flexible for use on contour surfaces.
OTHER INFORMATION
Three grits available: Coarse (brown), Medium (maroon) and Very
Fine (blue). Locking styles are the same as CAPLOK® locking discs, please see page 4 for descriptions.
LOCKING DISC BACKUP PADS
Reinforced rubber holder attached to a ¼" metal shank
with an internal locking hub for a Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 locking disc.
OPERATION
Attach ¼" shank to grinding tool and locking disc attaches to center hub.
APPLICATIONS
Used as a backup pad providing support for abrasive and non-woven locking
discs.
CAPLINK PSA DISCS
Heavy "C" weight paper discs made from aluminum oxide with
non-loading stearate. Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing with a protective release liner on every linked pull apart
disc.
OPERATION
Tear, then stick self adhesive disc to appropriate backup pad, shown below, attached to
a high speed or orbital sander.
APPLICATIONS
Ideal for finish sanding of woods, paints, metal and plastic.
CAPLINK BACKUP PADS
Made with a hard plastic support pad, medium or firm density
foam center and smooth vinyl face. All pads have a 5/16-24 thread attachment.
OPERATION
Attaches to a high speed or orbital sander. Backup pad is designed specifically
for attaching paper PSA discs.
APPLICATIONS
Used as a backup pad providing support for paper PSA discs.
